Moms in Transition

  • Bay Area Career Center

Are YOU ready for your next step? The time in NOW, say YES!

Join Linda Lesem for her inspirational Moms in Transition Workshop.

This four-week workshop offers a variety of career and personal assessments

including the Myers Briggs Personality Inventory. In a small, supportive and fun

group, we will explore Personality, Skills, Interests, Strengths and Values to help

clarify ”who you are”, and “what makes you tick”. These areas of assessment are

important for anyone facing a life transition, and will help you to identify your next

best step, whether that be re-entering the paid working world, going back to school

or volunteering in personally meaningful ways.

Participants will work both individually and as a group, supporting and networking

with each other on a journey of self discovery and goal setting, while learning tools

from the field of Positive Psychology, (the science of happiness). Linda, who is a

trained therapist, career counselor, and life coach has facilitated Moms In Transition

for over eight years, and has helped hundreds of moms move forward in their lives

and in their work.

“Linda, I have been accepted to graduate school, and it all started with Moms in

Transition, Thank you!”  Caroline S., Berkeley

“The time I spent brainstorming and strategizing with you has been invaluable. And I

wanted you to know that I always think back to the words of wisdom that you passed

down to me, about working on the excitement and energy surrounding this transition--

I focused on that, and without doing it, I'm sure I wouldn't be where I am now. “

What's Next: 5-Week Workshop Series

  • The Hivery

If you feel like you’re taking care of everyone except yourself, or you’re on someone else’s path, creatively stifled, or simply unsure of what to do next, you are not alone. The Hivery What's Next Workshop is here for you.

WHY SHOULD YOU PARTICIPATE?

The quest and exploration of identifying possibilities for what's next can move from daunting to exciting especially when done in a group of other supportive women.

WHAT’S NEXT WORKSHOP (5-WEEK PROGRAM):

Over five weeks, you'll walk away with basic knowledge about who you are, what makes you tick and how to setup your environment to thrive.

Recognize patterns that are holding you back and identify threads that point to your purposeful work. You will also receive a toolkit chock-full of practical actions to support healthy change for your transition into what’s next for you.

This isn’t just one more, one-off workshop, but a process where you can actually create meaningful steps toward change. You will be guided in creating new habits that support change and an opportunity to participate in accountability circles to stay on track.

WHO WOULD BENEFIT FROM THIS WORKSHOP?

Whether you want to go back to work, back to school, start a business, or volunteer in a personally meaningful way, the "What's Next” program will help you to identify possibilities that match who you are, what you are naturally good at, and what excites you.  What's Next Alumnae include women in all life transitions who feel stuck or need motivation and inspiration to get moving again.

This course series is especially for women who crave being part of a supportive group of like-minded women that encourage ideas, next steps and action.

WHAT IS REQUIRED FROM WHAT’S NEXT PARTICIPANTS?

You don’t need to know what you want...it’s perfectly okay if you don’t. Our only expectation is that you show up fully and that you are ready and willing to explore positive change in your life!

What You Will Learn:

WHY AM I STUCK?

First you will need to understand why you are stuck. We will explain the myriad of environmental blocks, cultural themes and brain biases that keep you from moving forward. You will find out how to change your mindset, let go of expectations and clear away roadblocks.

WHO AM I?

We begin with introductions, intentions and a variety of self assessment explorations including the Myers Briggs (a Personality Typology Inventory).  Additionally, we will explore Interests through the Holland Code, Character Strengths, Skills, Values and a variety of creative exercises that will help you to brainstorm possibilities that are complementary to your true nature.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO CREATE CHANGE?

We work together to intentionally create space for What’s Next by identifying what works and what no longer serves you.  You will life-design both your physical environment and relationships, to support your new chapter. This is a key component to organizing your life to  get “unstuck” and make actual change.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?

We are not here to tell you what to do, but rather we will guide you towards identifying the intersection of your core values, interests, strengths and skills.  This is the intersection where “good fit” possibilities reside.

HOW CAN I ACT ON CREATING CHANGE FOR MYSELF?

We create actions and accountability around "trying things on."  Your Hivery group will be there to help you investigate, network and find out if new action paths are a match with who you are and what you want to do.

Finally, we will craft your toolkit to create a practice that supports authentic change. You will receive practical tools and a variety of Positive Psychology techniques to create your own custom recipe for change.

What's Next Monthly Motivation Groups

First of three sessions begins Thursday, January 12.

This is an opportunity for What’s Next alumnae to continue trying ideas and possibilities in a supportive community. The Motivation Group is more than an accountability circle...it is a place for you to experiment and test out your ideas no matter how far fetched they may seem.  It is a space for you to hear feedback from a supportive and informed community of What’s Next peers. These women are grappling with many of the same issues and are willing to give their honest, heart-felt feedback to inspire you to be your very best self. We will use the power of the group to help you build a strategy, set goals, stay accountable and to network with each other.  In addition, Linda and Laura will help you create new habits that support change and growth as you stay connected and on track.
